SERVICES

CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY

While you are facing up, the therapist

uses specific hand placements held for

five minutes each to bring about deep relaxation, relieve headaches,

pain from TMJ, and low back pain.   CranioSacral Therapy has been known to improve mild scoliosis.

MEDICAL MASSAGE

Specific muscle attachments are addressed to reduce muscle pain. Then cross fiber friction as well as draining strokes are applied to the tissue in between the muscle attachments.

RELAXATION THERAPY

This says it all - it's intended

to help you relax.  Lots of

gentle to medium pressure

effleurage (long, flowing)

strokes are used. Some call

it Swedish Massage.

HEATED STONE MASSAGE

Basalt lava rocks that have been

warmed to just the right

temperature are placed

on the trigger points and chakras. VERY

relaxing and great for reducing

soreness in muscles.

PREGNANCY MASSAGE

The problem with getting a massage

while pregnant is you can't lie face

down very well.  So, we have you lie

on one side then the other while

cuddling a body length pillow between

your arms and legs so we can to get

to your aching back better.

GERIATRIC MASSAGE

Seniors have special needs when it

comes to receiving massage.  Their

skin is more delicate and so are their

muscles.  In addition, many have

osteoporosis and other medical

concerns that call for gentle massage.

Also, special attention is given to

giving help getting on and off the

table as well as speaking up to

address hearing difficulties.

ONCOLOGY/PALLIATIVE CARE MASSAGE

If you or a loved one is in a hospital

bed and is stiff and sore from being

in bed all the time, this offers some

relief from all of that. We come to

your bed if you are not able to leave it.

REFLEXOLOGY

To some it is just a wonderful

hand and foot massage, which is fine.  In ancient history it was said that by pressing on certain points in the hands and feet, one can improve the functions of the organs that correspond to these points. The same is applied today.  This comes with heated towels on each hand as well as on each foot.

SPORTS MASSAGE

Every serious athlete needs to add

this to the training routine. Whether

you are a pro or whether you are a

weekend warrior it's important to

use this method to prevent injury

as well as to improve your

competitive edge both before and

after each event.

ISOMETRIC STRETCHING

Joint flexibility can be increased using

this method.  While you are on the

table fully clothed your limbs are

manipulated to encourage an

increase in range of motion (ROM)

for the joints. Some stretches

require your controlled resistance

to enhance the benefits of the

stretch.

HEALING TOUCH

While you are fully clothed on the

table or on a chair we place

our hands about three inches

above your body to perform energy

work. It is extremely relaxing and

is perfect for the person who doesn't

like friction on the skin.

LOMI LOMI HAWAIIAN MASSAGE

This technique is performed using mostly the forearms instead of the hands.  A circular pattern is created with the forearms on the back, and

long strokes using the forearms are

used on the arms and legs. Translated,

it literally means "rub rub" in Hawaiian. It is an ancient technique that is very

relaxing.

MYOFASCIAL THERAPY

This is prescribed by physicians as a rehabilitation technique to increase joint mobilization by stretching the fascia that surrounds muscle tissue. Insurance can cover this with a doctor's prescription. Ask your primary care physician, oral surgeon, dentist, orthopedist, podiatrist, or osteopath to write a prescription for this. You pay out-of-pocket the day of service. We will give you a receipt. You then submit the receipt to your insurance company for reimbursement.

 ACUPRESSURE/SHIATSU

Pressing and holding certain points along the meridians brings relief for many types of pain.  This gives especially effective relief for the chronic headache sufferer. It is a safe and painless alternative to acupuncture.

MANUAL THERAPY

This is prescribed by physicians as a rehabilitation technique to increase

joint mobility, as well as to decrease

muscle pain. It involves a combined series of assisted stretches and massage of muscle attachments.

CHAIR MASSAGE

A specially designed chair is used that

has a place to rest your face, neck,

arms, chest, and knees while you sit.

Usually you receive a scalp, neck,

shoulder, upper back, and hand

massage. This includes aromatherapy

and is performed in corporate settings

and at special events. Each massage

can last as little as ten minutes or as

much as thirty minutes.
